Tampa is one of those places where magic happens more often than not. Could it be the proximity to the Magic Kingdom right up I-4? Nah…it’s all those bridges with pelicans and seagulls and sparkling sunshine. Well, that’s not enough to keep native Tampa son SCOTT SCHWEERS down there, even with a great job writing and producing at FOX’s WTVT. He’s now happily at home at COX’s legendary ABC affil WSOC in Charlotte, working with CSD SALLY GANZ. It’s a win-win. Everybody is smiling, although nobody has gotten the pelican reaction. That leaves an Art opening with Sally, just in case you know of someone.

JONATHAN AUBREY has been promoted at here! He’s now Director Corporate and Marketing Communications.

Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD, which is a very clunky group of initials when brought together) is handing the VP/Marketing slot to RICH OROSCO. He’s the go-to marketing guy for such off net syndie shows like Two & A Half Men and George Lopez. His boss – SUSAN KANTOR.

Oscar weekend. Too early, if you ask me. But the little gold guys will be handed out in between fashion sightings and expensive commercials. While you watch, give a little thought to the fact that women are woefully underrepresented in the WRITER categories. Woefully. Can’t believe its lack of creativity, since this column is full of amazing women who kick it in the TV world. I’m sure it’s just…well, enjoy the show.
