Wow…this is sizzlin’ hot news. DAVID HERSHEY is heading to LA. Yep, the creative head honcho at CBS’ KTVT in DFW is making the leap to the coast, joining old high school buddy JIM BARRETT at Edge Creative. It’s in beautiful Burbank, between Van Owen and Victory, by the airport. Of course, I hear they’ve got new digs and news of that will be coming along shortly. Hopefully, with some kind of beverages served at the same time. David will be VP at Edge and is excited about jumping in with all his creative muscles. After three and a half years in the Metroplex, he’s ready for the change and the challenge. With his wife and two daughters along, he’ll be hitting LALA after April 27th and from all he’s said, he’s extremely excited. Check out the work being done at www.edgecreative.la I like what they did for the Oscars…. And a major Well Dunne! to David, who will see everybody at PROMAX and will keep in touch. He promises.

Guru studio has picked two: SUSAN MA and SKYE BJARNASON are now producers. Susan will do the TV and longform work and Skye (great name) will handle commercials and other broadcast work. Guru is in Toronto.

Which top 10-market network affiliate keeps hiring creative services writer/producers with no experience in promotion? No reels…just bodies to fill in the seats. And then they wonder why their numbers are sub-basement??!! Don’t get me wrong…I’m all for giving people chances. But this is just not a good idea.

What is a good idea…letting me know when things change. Email movers@602communications.com and you’ll be spreading the news!

Think about this: “Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself, or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz

  • Great blog! I love the lovely quotes at the end. Somehow seeing how someone has handled the path before us makes life much more bearable.

Great job Bacon! Keep ’em coming!
