Just when I was thinking about former TV promo honcho LEE COOLEY, and wondering how his new job at Make-A-Wish in Phoenix was going, he emails me. And the email was about PROMAX Board member, KCBS/KCAL Creative head MARSHALL HITES. Take a gander at the new Final Cut Pro piece that Apple has done, starring Marshall himself! Click here. Lookin’ great, Mr. Hites!
Over at iN DEMAND, VINCENT ONORATI has come aboard as Director/Online Marketing, which means his focus is to develop and implement the online for all their different products like MOJO HD, Sports iN DEMAND and Howard TV On Demand. His boss is now STACIE GRAY, SVP of Marketing and Exec CD.
Disney’s Buena Vista Television (BVT) has grabbed SANDRA SZAHUN for their VP/National Promotions slot. It’s a NYC based position. Cool.
I would hate to give up a business card that reads FeistyFlix/Fallon Worldwide, but that’s exactly what ARIANA L. SQUAR is doing. Her new title is Director, brand integration for NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. She has a background in webisodes, which is still relatively a new thing to see on a resume. Congrats!
Clear Channel TV stations have a new owner, and he’s a broadcaster, not just a venture capitalist. SANDY DIPASQUALE is the guy who has the keys to all the front doors now. Paid $1.2 billion for the 56 stations and all they encompass, like their websites, etc. The papers will be final in the Fourth Quarter, and it’s said Sandy and his group paid about 15x cash flow. I believe that’s way above the accepted 8-10x cash flow that stations have been going for. Hope it doesn’t mean a round of belt tightening!
What a long week this was. Heard from many of you who had the Virginia story in your face all week, and it was taking a toll. I hope you’ll be able to spend the weekend doing something restorative. Give yoga a try. Get free yoga sessions via iTunes. Find some Earth Day events and see what you can do to make the planet better. Just take care of yourself and come back Monday.
Think about this: “Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are.” ~ Hafsat Abiola
