Iowa, the only state whose name begins with two vowels (I can see Vanna’s face now!) is the home of Winnebago, the mobile homes named after Winnebego County, where they are manufactured. Capital of Iowa is Des Moines, pronounced Duh MOYNE. It means river of the monks. I googled it. And in Des Moines is the Hearst NBC affiliate, KCCI. They’ve got a new writer producer editor. So comes word from CSD MIKE CUNNINGHAM. The new hire in question is ALAN SIMONIS. He rides into network affil TV from the video department at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, located not that far away. Seems the track and the station have the same AVID system. Cool. Alan is a grad of Drake, and everybody seems very happy with the arrangement. One could say it’s a good bet. Well Dunne!
Meanwhile, in Louisville, WHAS lost their new hire. He walked across the street just a few days into the May book. CHRISTIAN ADELBERG is now poppin’ out promos for WAVE TV. Somebody needs to buy that young man a book on business etiquette! Meanwhile, the fine folks at WHAS are smokin’ along just fine, thanks for asking. Love their CSD KIRK SZESNY, but can’t spell his last name without a prompt! BTW, Louisville is where ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s little girl is at the moment with her real dad, LARRY BIRKHEAD.
