Sometimes, things happen in a way you never expect. When JASON COOPER found himself in the job market, he was worried that a new TV opportunity would involve leaving his ladylove behind. Would she want to be part of the TV biz, where slots aren’t necessarily going to last long enough for roots to sprout? On the other hand, long distance relationships are tough and Jason was not wild about that idea. What’s a man to do? Persevere, that’s what. And we now announce that Mr. Cooper will be a groom on August 11 when he’ll tie the knot with Miss Rebecca Crown, who hails from Nashville, Tennessee. It’s a happy ending, all tied up with bows and bouquets. As for his new career path, he’s hard at work as a Director of Promotions for Morris Multimedia of Georgia. We’re throwing you flower petals, Jason. Well Dunne!
JOHN VARVI is getting the Senior added to his VP of On-Air Promotions title. He’s at FX, where they do such GREAT stuff. Hey John…wow. Love your work!
Some people vacation, and some people REALLY vacation. LA-based NBCU’s creative guy CHAD MALLAM is off to Bora Bora, which I’m sure won’t won’t. Bora Bora..won’t won’t…get it? Moving along…
OK, time to take the bull by the horns and talk about a subject that local station people need to address – shrinking numbers for News. Here’s a good article by Philadelphia Inquirer’s Gail Shister about it – click here. So, what do YOU think is the reason for shrinking numbers? Of course, I’m working on a treatise about that right now…will share later. Your turn first.
Think about this: “In order to hear your calling and answer it, you must generously give yourself the gift of time. It’s not how fast you make your dreams come true, but how steadily you pursue it.” ~ Sarah Ban Breathnach
