San Antonio is a national treasure. Since 1691, the city has been home to strength, elegance and a refined culture that perfectly mixed the region’s tastes and backgrounds. One of the original mission sites, where today you can attend services at Mission San Antonio de Valero, inhabitants never forget to celebrate each day with bright colors, delicious food, music and laughter. Word comes from San Antonio that puts a damper on the laughter. The world has lost VANGIE MASCURRO, the Promotion Manager at Sinclair’s FOX affiliate, KABB and the MyNetwork affiliate, KMYS. Vangie had her ACL repaired on her knee and was home for a few weeks to recover. When she felt short of breath, she called 911, but didn’t make it to the hospital. A blood clot took away her laughter, her smile and her ever-present sense of fun, to say nothing of her talent. She was a local San Antonio lady who had even attended college at Trinity before falling in love with TV promotion. And she did love it. She was so happy to work with creative people as well as see her ideas come to life and make a difference. It was my honor to share many quick phone conversations with her over the last years. She is survived by her much beloved son as well as her father and brothers. And, of course, all who knew her. Thanks to Sinclair’s BILL BUTLER for his kind help with this.

“That is the best – to laugh with someone because you both think the same things are funny.” ~ Gloria Vanderbilt
