Buenos Dias Promotion. ADELA PARADERO has left the Promo Manager slot at NBC affiliate KRIS-TV down in lovely Corpus Christi. She’s now doing the PR thing for a local convenience store chain called Stripes. Hate to see you go, my dear. Meanwhile, JOHN SOSA is interim Manager.

REGINA DIMARTINO is getting biz cards that read EVP/Marketing at TLC. In LA. Regina is the first hire by new President/GM of TLC, ANGELA SHAPIRO-MATHES, who came aboard first of July. Take it away Regina! Well Dunne!

Maaaaarvin Zindler, Eyewitness News” If you ever lived in Houston, these words, uttered in a staccato fashion from the great white pompadour behind the sunglasses, are as familiar as your own name. Marvin’s fame extended to the movie and musical, “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”. He’s the first on-air person my son Matt never missed. Seems that nothing is more exciting than finding out which restaurant had “sliiiiiiime in the ice machine”. When we lived in Houston, we were always in front of the tube when Marvin was on. The sad news last week is that Marvin has cancer. And like a true trooper, he is still on ABC-owned KTRK. You show ‘em Marvin!

Think about this: “It is hard to let old beliefs go. They are familiar. We are comfortable with them and have spent years building systems and developing habits that depend on them. Like a man who has worn eyeglasses so long that he forgets he has them on, we forget that the world looks to us the way it does because we have become used to seeing it that way through a particular set of lenses. Today, however, we need new lenses. And we need to throw the old ones away.” ~ Kenich Ohmae
