JOE POLK is the new Art Director of New Orleans’ Hearst-owned NBC affil WDSU. He’s a very talented graphic artist who has worked on the agency side of the biz for about 6 years down in the Crescent City. Some of the clients he worked with are cool – the Saints, Tulane University athletics and Voodoo, which is not the dark arts spell folks but the arena football team down there. Joe knows the market and is a native of NOLA. Welcome, Joe. You’ll love TV and Well Dunne! to you.
And thanks to CSD JOE SCHLITZ for the update. Look for more from Joe and the other NOLA folks this week on the anniversary of Katrina.
Also at WDSU is a very belated welcome to writer producer BILLY PILGRIM. He had been doing that creative thing down in Montgomery, AL and with all that was going on, his switch to WDSU got lost. Well Dunne! Billy and that’s a great name. Were your parents fans of Slaughterhouse Five?
Heading to Atlanta is JEFF FUNK, who was Joe’s #2 at WDSU. Jeff is gong to write and produce at WTBS in Atlanta. He’s worked at CNN at one point, so he won’t get confused at which of the 1,000’s of Peachtree roads to take!
Got plans in the works for the upcoming Labor Day weekend? For those in the DC area, W*USA’s STEVE HOUK (the one with the mike…he’s lead singer) will be playing with his band SECOND WIND at the Ilda Community Pool in Annandale, VA on Sept 1 starting at 5. Come hungry…there’s food, too!
