So how’d you spend your long holiday weekend? Up in the Raleigh Durham area, Art Director CARNISA BERRY got herself a new job. She’ll be bidding adieu to the folks at NBC affil WNCN in Raleigh and will be the new Creative Director at Church Initiative, which is a nondenominational, nonprofit ministry that produces and publishes a variety of video-based curriculums. The new job is in Wake Forest, a beautiful old historic town that is booming along with north Raleigh. She begins September 24. That’s her in the pic with her two little ones. The whole family is the best! Well Dunne! Carnisa.

Over on the West Coast, KPIX Producer SULTAN MIRZA had a blast with friends, hiking Oceanside in Marin County, that pricey piece of real estate north of the Golden Gate. They ended up on the beach – take a gander at the pic he sent along. Thanks for sharing, Sultan. He admits to being ready to tackle the creative work at KPIX after all the fun. A shout-out to their CSD DEE JOYCE from moi.

Caught up with MARC ROBERTZ – marketing, promo and sales veteran who’s worked at stations from Maine to Miami. For the last 4.5 years, he’s been at The Villages, “ Florida ’s Friendliest Hometown.” Back in 2003, he made the leap to VNN, the 24-hour cable channel that serves nearly 70,000 (and growing) active seniors spanning 3 Central Florida counties. At its peak, VNN staffed 100, was producing 18 original programs each week. They got all kinds of kudos – nods from the EMMY and Murrow folks included. Evolution being what it is in the creative world, Marc is now the General Manager of The Villages owned electronic marketing group. Marc mentioned how much fun it’s been to tailor his traditional TV background into a non-traditional environment and how much fun it could be to do the reverse someday. In the mean time, home sales are healthy, retirement dreams are coming true and national recognition for The Villages is at a high. But in case you’re one of the few who can’t sing The Villages jingle by heart, check out this amazing community (and start counting the days to retirement) at www.thevillages.com. Marc would love to hear from you. Drop me an email and I’ll make sure it gets to him!

MARTHA STEWART is now officially 100% prime. The creative doyen is headed to The Fine Living Network – how totally appropriate. Beginning September 10, catch her syndicated show on a day’s delay basis at 8pm. Perfect for the busy schedules we all keep. Thanks for the great photo of Martha, taken by SCOTT DUNCAN, who is part of the Omnimedia thing she’s got going. First guest is USHER, who’s a Tennessee guy – same state as Fine Living’s HQ.

Got a campaign you are proud to share? One that has “award-winning” written on it? Then the good news is the Creative Media Awards entry deadline has been moved back to September 7. Check out all the info and details by clicking here.
