You know someone is extra special when not only their boss, but also former co-workers sing their praises with such sincerity, it’s touching. Such is the case with a certain Raleigh, NC creative, who is taking a new direction with her career. Turning a corner to a new horizon is
ANITA NORMANLY. She’s a Triangle girl (meaning the area of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill) who’s been writing and producing at Capital Broadcasting’s WRAL. For the last 12 years to be exact. Picked up a lot of fans along the way, among them CHUCK HARRELL who worked with Anita and credits her with all kinds of wonderful things career-wise. He says he learned all about promotions from her, and he’s now out in San Francisco. Obviously, Anita taught him well. What’s Anita going to do now? She’s taking leave of WRAL but staying with Capital as a Sales and Marketing Specialist with News Over Wireless. NOW has 75 plus affiliates and Anita will be launching and promoting their News on cell phones. According to her boss SHELLY LESLIE, it’s a perfect fit. But she WILL be missed. Meanwhile, the lovely Shelly needs to replace her. Can’t encourage you enough to take a run at that coveted slot. The biggest of Well Dunne! salutes to you, Anita!

Sacre Bleu! JEAN CLAUDE CANCEDDA est le nouveau Directoir d’Art au Sundance. Pardonez my French. What I want to relay is that Jean Claude Cancedda is new at The Sundance Channel where he’ll be Creative Director, Print and Broadcast Design. He’ll report to SARAH BARNETT, Sundance Channel Senior Vice President Branding, On-Air & Creative Services. Jean Claude will come over from The Food Network, where he’s put in six years doing that arts and graphic thing. He’s also worked for the Mouse as Creative Director for the Disney Internet Group, at Newsweek Magazine as Creative Director and also as Sr. Art Director at Lifetime. He’s a real product of France, having been raised in La Rochelle, and has a diploma from School of Visual Arts in NYC. Well Dunne!

That handsome guy pictured is KEN MILLS, who I told you about last week. He is no longer with us, but talent, creativity, class and wit is always worthy of noting. Here is his picture, just in case you need to identify a one of a kind great guy this Monday. He is missed.

Adios Silver Spring, hello LA! So it was announced at TLC Monday. The net is moving west. Read all about it by clicking here.

Did you watch the Emmys last night? LEWIS BLACK took promo types to hilarious task in one of his rants, beautifully scripted. He did his Lewis thing about animated lower thirds, video over programming, and the hated news crawl. Remember, kids, humor isn’t funny unless it’s based on truth…. Note to self: get tickets for Lewis’ next show. LOVE that guy.
