Cincy. Great town, with the best ice cream in the world. Can’t attest to that personally, but several reliable sources have all concurred, with one crediting the frozen goodness for his 20 pound weight gain while GMing there in the last 80’s. Reason I mention it is CSD TONY PHILLIPS of FOX in Cincinnati has news of a new creative member, and like the ice cream, the recent addition sounds pure gold. Joining WXIX just after Labor Day was MARK MAGISTRELLI, who excels in both TV and radio. Mark’s no stranger to the station – he freelanced doing local specials and even began his career there before working at stations in The City of Seven Hills and Cleveland, such as WKRC, WCPO, WEWS, WLWT and WSTR. The guy is good, and even has a Peabody for work as a documentary producer/writer. WOW! His audio skills are just as impressive – he has a show that’s Must Hear called “When Swing Was King” plus he’s an audio restorer, making sure local radio broadcasts of the ’40’s are preserved. Well Dunne! Mark. And Well Dunne! Tony on your great hire.
