Don’t you love hearing unexpected and wonderful news? Sure you do. Come on…take that anti-depressant and get on with the day. Back to business…great news from a wonderfully talented man down Houston way. MIKE STEWART is headed to Big D – Dallas’ KTVT, the CBS O&O in the Metroplex. One, two, three..hurray! Mike did outstanding work when he was head of the creative services down at KPRC, the Post Newsweek NBC affil in Texas’ second largest city. For the last year or so, he’s been involved in media sales, but is listening to that creative inside and getting back to the writing, producing and marketing world. Congrats to TERRY McFARLANE, who heads up the KTVT shop. Well Dunne, Mike! Can’t wait to see your new visions on the screen.

Here’s an exciting job. My idea of a position with the “wow factor”. Heard from “the great white north” that SANDY FRASER has been promoted. Formerly Promotions Manager for CTV, Sandy’s new title is Director of Olympic Promotions for CTVglobemedia, the parent multimedia company for CTV. It’s all in a suburb of Toronto. Sandy will be overseeing all consumer based marketing and promotion for CTV’s 27 conventional stations and 35 cable channels for the Vancouver 2010 and London 2012 Olympic Games. Also on Sandy’s dance card is attendance, but not participation, in the Beijing Olympics this August. The Windsor, Ontario native (yep, just across the river from Detroit…we’ve all been there at one time or another) has a very bright and fun future ahead. Well Dunne! And keep in touch. Emailing pix from Beijing would be nice…

Nikki Finke reports today that there’s going to be a breakthrough in the writers strike…and Nikki is usually Right On The Money. Cross those now-idle fingers and let’s get this wrapped up before the holidays.

“Thankfulness is a healing energy and vibration that can uplift and transform any stuck experience in life. Gratitude is more than just an emotion. It is a state of being that is felt deeply; the substance of a heart that is ready to express its fullness, coupled with no desire to benefit yourself at all. This is the fire and the power of gratitude.” ~ Greg Barrette
