This time of year is particularly beautiful in South Carolina’s capital, Columbia. Yet, PATRICK STAPLETON has his eye on next month. Patrick is the new daily news topical creative (he does other promo project, too) at NBC affil WIS TV. Patrick is counting down the days until his favorite TV show returns with new episodes – he’s a major fan of The Office. A May grad of University of Georgia, he’s quite the sports fan as well, backing his Dawgs and the Chicago Cubs. He sounds like a great guy who explains, “My interest in TV started in college when I worked in production for the campus newscast. The fast paced, deadline intensive, and high stressful work environment really excited me. I love coming in to work knowing that each day will be different from the last.” Well Dunne! He’ll be reporting to Director of Marketing and Promotions BARRY AHRENDT.

Know who is going to receive the 2008 BDA Lifetime Achievement Award? The international design firm of Psyop, that’s who. It’ll all happen during the June PROMAX/BDA shindig in the Big Apple. For more info, click here.

Come on…admit it. Some of us harbour thoughts of being a host on some cool show. The spotlight looks just as good on us as anybody else. Fine Living might be your ticket to this dream. They’re looking for possible hosts for shows. Only drawback is you have to be in the NYC area. If you’re an expert and enthusiastic, send all kinds of info about yourself to casting@fineliving.com Yeah, they need a tape, too. But why not give it a try?

Making plans for the weekend? If you’re in the DC area, W*USA’s STEVE HOUK’s band has another gig you might want to catch. Yep, at their favorite watering hole, The Firehouse Grill in Fairfax. Tomorrow night about 9. Cool.
