Don’t you just love the name Kalamazoo? I do. It’s fun. Located in the lovely western portion of the lower part of Michigan, I can speak to the fun one can have in August in Ka-zoo, when the temps are perfect for sleeping after a day spent swimming in one of the gorgeous lakes. Up at WWMT, the Freedom Communications WWMT affil they have a new Marketing Director. Say hello to MARK BISHOP. Mark comes from WATE in Knoxville, the ABC affil. It’s housed in an old mansion I hear. The upstate NY guy, Saratoga Springs I believe, has spent a lot of time in the South, having worked at Miami’s WSVN and Raleigh’s WTVD. Not one to be picky about locale, Mark says he feels at home anywhere there’s a good restaurant. Good man. He’s Dad to Lydia, the 6 year old he and his wife adopted from Tver, Russia. The three are happy in Michigan and looking forward to golfing and to snow skiing next year. Well Dunne! Mark.

This just in…a new CSD at Hearst-Argyle’s WBAL in Baltimore. The new head of Creatives was inside the building as #2, and has been bumped upstairs. Congrats go out to STEVE BAMONTI. He’s from upstate NY – Washingtonville to be exact. It’s near Orange County, of Orange County Choppers fame. Steve began in TV fresh out of Plattsburgh State when he took a promo producer slot at WPTZ, the NBC affil that straddles Vermont and NY owned by Hearst. He came to WBAL 6 years ago and the rest is why we’re writing about him now. He plays ice hockey and promises to play any position. Well Dunne! Steve.

Think About This: “Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.” ~ Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
