With 8-8-08 and the Beijing games about to kick off, it seems like just yesterday it was 2002 and the winter Olympics were in Salt Lake City…. but I digress. All but the part about Salt Lake City. Had the pleasure to talk with KUTV’s News Promotion Manager CHAD LARSEN in the capital of the Beehive State, and he told me about hitting the jackpot, of sorts. When the CBS affil needed to find a writer producer, they were lucky enough to find AARON LOWE. Aaron was freelancing his talents in nearby Idaho, but he was trying to get back to Utah, where he had gone to school. The two met and Presto…The Four Points station was cookin with just what they had hoped to find. . Aaron got his first job in TV down in St. George, Utah, so SLC is like being home. The Oregon-born creative is already on the job. Well Dunne!

Out in the City By The Bay comes word from one of the best PR people in TV (shout out to AKILAH MONIFA) about a hire in the CBS owned KPIX Creative Services Department. Joining the team is SHADI HADDAD, who is actually going to sister station, The CW 44 Cable 12 (KBCW-TV). The Rockin, CA Writer/Producer has been an Associate Producer there, so this marks a promotion for him! Well Dunne! Shadi. You’re working with some great folks.

Is Image Advertising in TV set for comeback? Here’s TVNewsday’s take on it.

Anybody here from the midwest? Know who Texas Bruce is? Well, here’s a chance to read about a wondful guy who was a TV pioneer. click here.
