Talk about a child of TV. Meet BEN TEW, who told me he grew up under the transmitter tower of WTVY in Dothan, Alabama. BEN has been named Promotion Manager at the Gray CBS affil and has been on the job for about three months. But he’s no stranger to the station. He’s been there 10 years, and worked his way up from his first assignment – overnight weekend Master Control op. He spent a year on the graveyard shift then transitioned to Production, where he handled graphics for about 8 years. All self taught, btw. Now, he’s heading the promotion and sounds happy. Especially happy with Halloween on the horizon. A self-professed Halloween lover, he has in the past run a 6,000 square foot outdoor Halloween attraction (think open air haunted house situation). This year, he’s volunteering to make the local botanical garden’s event memorable. Well Dunne! Ben. Keep in touch.

Think About This: “Self esteem is a huge piece of my work. You have to believe it’s possible and believe in yourself. Because after you’ve decided what you want, you have to believe it’s possible, and possible for you, not just for other people. Then you need to seek out models, mentors, and coaches.” ~ Jack Canfield.
