WSOC’s SALLY GANZ has hired an LA talent to handle the promotion of the Cox indie WAXN in Charlotte. AARON PUTNAM has been a writer on THE BONNIE HUNT SHOW as well as an editor and writer for The History Channel and Discovery Network shows. He and his wife wanted to find a more child-friendly place to live. With their families in Atlanta and Virginia, Charlotte’s “in the middle” locale seemed just the right spot. He’s been on the job a whole week now. Well Dunne! Aaron. Have Sally take you to the Penguin and buy you an order of fried pickles. Yep, they really have that in Charlotte!

The business has lost yet another great voice. Announcer HOWARD REIG was the voice of NBC Nightly News from the time it was anchored by John Chancellor to just recently with Brian Williams. Howard was in the business for 63 of his 87 years. The Wiki entry on Howard is fascinating. What a loss.

Think About This: “We cannot banish dangers, but we can banish fears. We must not demean life by standing in awe of death.” ~ David Sarnoff
“Death is not the opposite of life. Life has no opposite. The opposite of death is birth. Life is eternal.”
~Eckhart Tolle
