Lots going on down Louisiana way, cher. Many of you know Andree Boyd. She’s now ANDREE BOYD ZAMARLIK. Has been, actually, for two years…she got married to the Marine of her dreams. That in and of itself is a Happy Ending worthy of sharing. But there’s more and it’s all good. After 20 years heading up the Creative Services Department at Raycom’s WAFB, the CBS affil in Baton Rouge, she’s heading to the head creative seat at Hearst’s WDSU in New Orleans. NO is her hometown to boot. The job change is all about timing. Her mom is getting up there and needs a little more attention, which Andree can now give her. Mom, btw, lost everything in Katrina and has survived to tell all about it. A single mom who raised a daughter and son, Andree wasn’t interested in changing jobs but, when her little girl graduated from high school, the idea of repotting herself was open. I told you timing is everything. Mix it all up, and you have New Orleans’ gain. A hearty Well Dunne! to this talented and fun creative. Andree, looking forward to keeping in touch.

Sony Pictures TV media relations has named a new one to the VP club. Arizona State grad KAREN BARRAGAN is now the VP for the broadcast, cable and digital programming down in Culver City. She calls BOB OSWAKS boss. Well Dunne! Add to that a new hire – CAROLINA MENDOZA is now Director of Media Relations, based in NYC. She comes over from AMC.

Speaking of Sony and Culver City, set designer RICHARD STILES is noted for his design for Wheel of Fortune. Sadly, he passed away. Also gone is radio giant BILL DRAKE, who made rock and roll radio a teens best friend back in the days of transistor radios.

Think About This: “The most dependable quality in the universe is that of change. A willingness to change eliminates the word failure from our vocabulary.” ~ Tom Crum
