Don’t know what to make of this, actually. Seems that Advertising and Promotions Managers are on the list of 9 Disappearing Jobs over the next decade, according to the labor department. Here’s what they cite as the stats: Employed Ad/Promo Managers in U.S.: 44,600 Change expected in next decade: -2% Average salary: $80,220 Even though overall jobs in the ad, marketing, promotions and PR are expected to go up 13%, those involved in driving sales are expected to drop by 2%. (Sidebar – that makes no sense imo) The Labor Department goes on to reiterate that ad dollars and jobs are an up and down situation. Thanks for sharing that guys. My favorite lines are about how the most creative will have no trouble finding a great job. Oh-kay.
