MIKE WARD was a very multi-faceted TV pro. NBC was the recipient of his efforts beginning in 1985 when he went to work in the WMAQ newsroom in Chicago as EP of the 5 and was eventually upped to News Director there. They moved him up and over to Philly where he took on the role of VP Creative Services and Programming before another promotion to GM and President of WNCN in Raleigh. The lure of news in DC took him to WUSA where he was ND but in 2008, he suffered a stroke. He never really bounced back from it, and Mike passed away last Wednesday. He was only 63. He sure did pack a lot of life in those years, including being a photog and working in Cleveland and Sioux Falls in his home state of South Dakota. So very sad to see anyone creative leave…

Well Dunne! Talent’s MELANIE HAYNES has her home studio featured in Houston House and Home. She’s in LA at the moment…good things percolating. For those audio folks – you’ll love the article.
