If WXYZ isn’t one of the best call letters, well…they’re super call letters, actually. They belong to Scripps’ ABC affiliate in Southfield, Michigan, which is of course Detroit. About 13 miles from their location is Hamtramck High School, where PHILIP WROBEL graduated before heading off to get his degree from Michigan State. Philip is going to be the new Creative Services Director at WXYZ, and he calls that his ‘dream job’. How lovely is that…returning to the ideal job and his hometown. He’s a lucky man. Phil will be leaving his Marketing Director job in Richmond, VA at WTVR, Tribune’s CBS affil; he’ll begin his new job in early October. Phil started his TV career as a photog at WSYM in Lansing and was also at KLRT in Little Rock and was CSD at KARK, NBC in Arkansas’ capital. Philip’s wife is a Detroit native, so it’s a double homecoming – the family will be closer to grandparents, etc. A huge Well Dunne! Phil.
A fascinating article on why you can never get everything on your To Do List done…and why you aren’t getting more money in your paycheck.
