Starting the new year off with a delightful lady who’s gotten a promotion. And in one of the best cities in the country. At one of the best stations. When Louisiana native CANDACE HARRALSON WALTHER was drawn to photography, she had no idea it would lead to her being named Assistant Marketing Director of Tegna’s WWL in New Orleans. Yes, photography captured the Anacoco, Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi girl’s attention (back when she was a girl and had two hometowns) and when she enrolled in college in Lake Charles, she discovered video storytelling and wanted her pictures to move. So much so, she went on to earn a Masters in film from Ohio University in Athens, where she was a Bobcat (NOT a Buckeye) and a four year resident in their intensive program, resulting in a documentary that did the film fest circuit and did it pretty impressively. The call of NO made her up and move there – no job, just her education, talent and dog Watson. That’s following your bliss. She networked, landed some production slots on reality shows being done in the Big Easy and then took a part time camera op gig at WWL on their morning show. About a year later, she discovered the world of promo (hmm, seems that’s a line used often and a real shame) and ended up on Marketing Director (formerly Creative Services Director) JOSH MEZA’s promo team. Keep your eye on this one….she’s got stardust in her aura. The very first Well Dunne! of 2016 Candace!

Think About This: “Sometimes the people with the greatest potential often take the longest to find their path because their sensitivity is a double-edge sword – it lives at the heart of their brilliance, but it also makes them susceptible to life’s pains. Good thing we aren’t being penalized for handing in our purpose late. The soul doesn’t know a thing about deadlines.” ~ Jeff Brown
