Death is part of being on the planet. It’s inevitable, it’s natural…and it’s sad. Sad for those of us left here without the spirit, the talent, the individuality of the person who has gone on. JAY ANTZAKAS, President of Television By Design Inc, has left us. For over 33 years, Jay made TV pretty…made it functional at the same time…made people and stations and News Directors and Creatives happy. The Ohio U grad who started at Turner down in Atlanta lent his company’s talents to many locales and operations. Another creative candle gone out…it gets darker and darker here on the blue marble….   LinkedIn has this posted:

Jay Antzakas died peacefully on the afternoon of March 30, 2016, at Hospice Atlanta Center, as a result of gastric cancer. His passions were television broadcasting, and all things related to commercial aviation. He enjoyed nothing more than traveling the world, especially if it involved a new Boeing aircraft or an as yet unseen airport. His favorite destinations were always by the sea.  Donations in his name may be made to Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, or American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Think About This“Tears are sometimes an inappropriate response to death. When a life has been lived completely honestly, completely successfully, or just completely, the correct response to death’s perfect punctuation mark is a smile.”  ~  Julie Burchill
