It’s switching from coach to cheerleader. That’s how GEORGE SEVERSON described his new job at Salt Lake City’s KTVX / KUCW. His new official title is Director of Local Programming and Creative Services, and he’s already into the creative part, which makes him happy. Heretofore, George had been News Director at the Nexstar ABC / CW affil in Utah’s capital. A Minnesota man with a degree from St. Cloud State, George has handled Assignment duties for KATE and KMSP in Minneapolis and adventured to Alaska’s KTVA in an Exec Producer slot. He spent time field producing at KCOP in LA before first hitting Salt Lake’s KTVX. He handled a daily talk show for KOIN in Portland before taking a News Director position at KMIR in Palm Springs. He officially has had the new role since October and from the sounds of thing, he’s going to have a merry Christmas.  Well Dunne! George!
