That whole circle of life thing…anybody else struggle with that? Not the new life part…the beginning of it all part, but the end part. The departure. How does one NOT miss someone that you loved, or liked, or worked with, or made you laugh? It’s always such an honor to write about a TV creative who has departed. Not because they have departed, but because they left those creative parts of themselves behind in the form of their work, and memories, and connections. One such departure of late was ROY ROGERS MAINE, JR. In addition to his totally fab name, he left a legacy of being, as described by co-creative BOB WOOLEY, a one-in-a-million guy. As Bob shared, “Smart as they come, a true renaissance man if I ever met one. Roy had studied quantum physics for a time before I believe switching to film studies at UNLV. He was a gifted creative who had travelled the world running AV and producing video on several large cruise ships. He was the father of a young son, and he will be missed by everyone who ever had the privilege to work with him.” He took his light into another room unexpectedly on June 8. He and Bob worked together at KLAS in Vegas. Today, remember this light that’s now gone, and strive to have your life be remembered with such glowing affection and admiration. He worked in Seattle and a celebration of life is planned for there July 7th. Contact me for details.
