Getting around Hot-lanta is not going to be any trouble at all for LARRY WATZMAN. Of course, traffic is going to be worse than he remembers it. He’s going back to the Georgia capital as the Director of Marketing and Creative Services at Gannett’s WXIA. Larry and family are going to love the hub of the South and he’ll be returning to a city he knows from the days of working for CNN. He’ll be back in Dixie by the middle of September. Well Dunne! There’s no place like home.  Dorothy knew that and spent her time in Oz looking to return to Kansas. Most of us don’t have to worry about a Wizard or a hot air balloon to do this. Despite it all, Home is still what calls us, and so many of you make changes with that as the focal point. How can we get the HR people to understand that going home…being close to family…is not just a valid point, but THE valid point in life’s path. Such is the case with two wonderful Creatives. BOBBY RIGG is back in Houston amongst family and making the folks happy at KHOU where he’s Sr. Writer Producer. Heading home to the Pacific Northwest is KEVIN KIRKALDIE, who had been at the Nexstar duop in Memphis. He’s a super guy, so all you NW folks who are on the lookout for someone super…he’s your man. Well Dunne! Bobby and Kevin.

Get out the confetti and streamers…it’s an anniversary. Voice man MARK DRISCOLL started his radio career on this date quite a few years ago. He’s made huge impacts in NYC, LA, Philly…you get the idea. Of course, he’s been nicknamed Mr. Voice by RICK DEES.

Philadelphia. Home of Independence (they have a hall by that name, etc) and where all our July 4 celebrations emanated. It’s now the home of MATT LAWS (who would die if I called him handsome, so I won’t). He’s taken the VP slot of Creative Services and Programming at NBC’s WCAU, known as NBC 10. He’s been down at WXIA, Gannett’s NBC affil in Atlanta and before that was out in Seattle at KIRO. Along the way, the gentleman from the South (he’s Matthew Laws IV officially) has done creative and headed up folks at WOAI San Antonio, WLWT Cincinnati, KOCO in Oklahoma City and WUPW in Toldeo. A Main Line Well Dunne! Matt.

Ms. RYANN JOHNSON is the newest member of The Promotional Edge, coming over from ABC Television where she was Manager of Integrated Marketing. She’ll continue her winning streak of exciting promotions.  She has been at Showtime as Special Events Coordinator and was Marketing Coordinator for the Cleveland Cavaliers. She’s a Tulane grad who’s also studied in Spain and France. Well Dunne! Ryann.
