With an office overlooking the Mighty Misssippi and the Gateway Arch, the KMOV Creative Services Manager might have one of the best views in the country. The next inhabitant of that office is JOHN SWEENEY, who has been at KPRC in Houston as the Assistant CSD  – the view in Houston isn’t as lovely.  The Fordham grad has also worked at WVIT and was with Fox News Channel from the day it signed on. Make sure they take you over to The Hill for some great Italian food, John. And Well Dunne!

Week number two is being very good to NYASHA SINCLAIR, the Sr. Promotions Producer at WTTG/WDCA, the Fox/MyTV duop in DC. She’s working for the very talented MIKE HENRY. Ms. Nyasha is a firecracker and so much fun, and I hear she’s a very savvy marketing talent, too. Hailing from Queens, Nyasha’s first intro to TV was at MTV. What a cool way to kick off a career. She comes over to FOX from writing and producing in the promo department at TV One in Silver Spring. Big Well Dunne! Nyasha.

Let’s find ways to support media folks who are reinventing themselves. Take RAY RICHMOND for example. Ray is a fabulous LA-based writer who you might have read in Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, on Nikki Finke’s Deadline site and he was the LA Daily News TV Critic. What clever way can Ray take that writing and turn it into house payments? By doing fortune cookies, of course. Fun, original and even personalized fortune cookies. Check it out and make your friends happy at the same time. http://www.smartestcookies.com/

Every now and then, I get to write about somebody special…and today is such a day. Yes, all the cool folks who are getting new slots are special, but this one particular announcement is like having my brother get something wonderful. CURTIS MILES is heading to Chicago to head up the creative for ABC’s WLS, which is most exciting for Curtis’ mother, who lives in nearby Iowa and she can now see her two grandchildren more than a few times a year. Curtis is the newest member of the VP Club with his new title: VP of Creative Services and Programming.  He’ll be heading north after the first of the year, no doubt with a new coat and gloves. He’s been at ABC in Raleigh, WTVD, as CSD. His new GM in The Windy City is his old GM from NC. Nice. Curtis has done creative leadership at Belo’s WVEC in Norfolk as well as being Promo Manager at WTAE in Pittsburgh and WTAJ in Altoona, PA. He’s even worked at Magid. He has a Masters Degree from U of Iowa. A great big ol’ Well Dunne! Curtis and family.

I predict that MICHAEL VAMOSY is going to be purchasing a top coat, hat, gloves and a scarf in the very near future. He’s making the move from LA to Englewood, a suburb of Denver, where he is going to be the new SVP of Creative Services for Starz Entertainment. He’s been Executive Creative Director at Buster, the marketing company over on Wilshire and before that did his artistic magic for Fox Broadcasting and FX Networks. He also has Friedland & Jacobs Communications on his resume. Perhaps he’s a skier…that would be perfect. Well Dunne! Michael.

The “great Producer shortage” is only getting worse. My thought is to refer to economics textbooks for the answer. When a commodity becomes scarce, the price of that commodity goes up. Have any of you built in more money for producer salaries? Just askin’.

Will is the newest member of the WAVE 3 creative team, headed up by Marketing Manager ADAM FRARY. Mr. B came over from the Fox affil in Derby Town, WDRB. Working for a Raycom station isn’t a new experience for Will – he spent a few years at their WFIE outlet in Evansville, IN. The Vincennes U grad is also a decorated Army veteran who spent some time in the Middle East, where he served as an Infantryman and has some intense experience repelling from helicopters and leading a machine gun team. Let’s hear a rousing Well Dunne! for Will.

BRIAN ZIETH is one of those guys who makes one believe in The Dream.  And hard work, but that goes without saying. Wisconsin native Brian, who lives and breathes Green Bay Packers, decided that when he got his diploma in Broadcast Communications (from University of Wisconsin – Green Bay of course) he would decamp the cold and find a slot in Florida. So he took a paid Internship at Orlando’s WOFL and worked his way up the ladder. He ran studio cam, coordinated promotions and ended up as Sr. Writer Producer for my fave CSD CHRIS FRIEDRICHS. Brian credits Chris with teaching him all the in’s and out’s, and now Mr. Z is working as a promo producer for original programs at The Golf Channel.  He misses the good folks at WOFL, but he now doesn’t have to commute on I-4, which is a job perk. A great big Well Dunne! to Brian.
