Is news from Stun, the content studio and commercial production house in LA…is news from Stun stunning news? Yep – thought so too. We’re talking about news that’s also a brand new position to boot. Hmm, wonder if it has that new position smell…  MATT LeBOUEF has been promoted to VP, Consumer Brands. Matt had been Senior Account Director at Stun before the promotion. Other stops along his career include Senior Producer/Head of Production at Big Machine Design and as an on-air promo producer for DIRECTV. Let’s hear it for the Emerson grad. Well Dunne! Matt.

BOBBY RIGG has a new title that’s even more important and impressive than the one he has now, which is President and CEO of his own production entity in Houston. Nope, better than that, Bobby is now Dad. He and the lovely Mrs. welcomed the most adorable little peanut the other day and to say everybody is happy is a major understatement. Nothing is better news than an adorable healthy baby. Well Dunne! Rigg Family. Hugs to you all!

Listen up everybody! The one and only BOBBY RIGG is now freelancing, and you all need to not only put him in your rolodex/contacts/database/Siri thingie….but if you want great work, then you have to call and make him your production guy. He writes. He shoots. He edits. He knows how to get along with news people!  Bobby has recently been Creative Manager in Houston at KHOU – yes, the station that the Buffalo Bayou flooded. During the hurricane. I’m sure you heard about it. Bobby is a Texan…Houston guy with a degree from UH to boot. He started his career in Corpus at KZTV producing promos, then headed west to KCRA in the Cali capital . He returned to Houston as Sr. Promo producer before getting the Creative Manager slot there. So, let’s repeat, hire Bobby Rigg. Carry on…and Well Dunne! Bobby.

For those of you not connected on Facebook, let me copy what was posted yesterday in the wake of the FCC’s ruling about local stations and brick and mortor locations: Wow…the FCC today eliminated the rule that meant local radio had to be, well, local. Watch for a lot of layoffs in your town…a lot of vapid and waste-of-time radio coming from elsewhere…and iHeart saving itself so the banks are happy while everyone else isn’t. Progress?

There’s no place like home.  Dorothy knew that and spent her time in Oz looking to return to Kansas. Most of us don’t have to worry about a Wizard or a hot air balloon to do this. Despite it all, Home is still what calls us, and so many of you make changes with that as the focal point. How can we get the HR people to understand that going home…being close to family…is not just a valid point, but THE valid point in life’s path. Such is the case with two wonderful Creatives. BOBBY RIGG is back in Houston amongst family and making the folks happy at KHOU where he’s Sr. Writer Producer. Heading home to the Pacific Northwest is KEVIN KIRKALDIE, who had been at the Nexstar duop in Memphis. He’s a super guy, so all you NW folks who are on the lookout for someone super…he’s your man. Well Dunne! Bobby and Kevin.

Get out the confetti and streamers…it’s an anniversary. Voice man MARK DRISCOLL started his radio career on this date quite a few years ago. He’s made huge impacts in NYC, LA, Philly…you get the idea. Of course, he’s been nicknamed Mr. Voice by RICK DEES.

Job Alert – VP Creative TruTV NYC

The Sacramento-Phoenix connection is pretty strong. Two Phoenix Marketing Directors come direct from Cali’s capital…plus one GM, and now BOBBY RIGG is part of the Sacto Crowd. Mr Bobby is the new Marketing Manager for Scripp’s syndicated show, THE LIST, which launches Sept 17 across the USA. Very exciting. Bobby comes out of Houston’s KHOU where he was Sr. Writer Producer for CSD DALE LOCKETT at the Belo-owned CBS affil. The Sacramento connection lies with his work at Hearst’s KCRA. He started his TV marketing career at KZTV, the CBS affiliate in beautiful Corpus Christi. The University of Houston grad also attended UT in Austin. Well Dunne! Bobby.

BIGSMACK has a new Creative Director. Welcome aboard to MATT HALL, and it’s a reunion with ANDY HANN, the guy who owns BIGSMACK. The two worked together at Concrete Pictures in LA not all that long ago. Matt is going to bring all the creative heat that he’s built up working with such entities as NBC Sports, A&E and NatGeo.  Matt’s also been a creative director at 3Ring Circus (loved their work). Well Dunne! Matt!
