With the weather news of the day centering on Florida, it seems rather odd to talk about palm trees, since in a bad storm they rattle about something awful.  But palms have a hypnotic effect on some…the way they silhouette against sunrises and sunsets is beautiful beyond words. They denote a feeling of paradise. And they can call one to return to them, even from a far distance. Returning to the Florida palms of aptly named Palm Beach is DANIELLE JOHNSON who will be heading to NBC affil WPTV where she’s slotted to take on a multi-media marketing producer job. Good for her. She’s taking leave of KJRH in Tulsa where she’s been for five years, working with the lovely and talented GM DONNA WILSON as well as CSD PETE GEORGE. Pete told me he hates to see her go but when you have surf and sand in your veins it’s hard not to return to the Sunshine State. Donna started out in Tampa interning as part of her degree from University of South Florida. She’s been with Scripps all along (they hold on to great people) and not only was part of the promo effort in Tulsa, but Danielle is great in front of the camera. She hosted Access Tulsa. Add her MMJ chops to the fact she was chosen to be a Leadership Champion, and you’ve got a pretty sweet bundle of talent. Palm Beach is in for a treat. Danielle will love working with CHRISTINE BARON and JAMES GRIFFEL when she gets back home. Well Dunne! Danielle.

Good news is even better when it sneaks up and surprises you. JAMES GRIFFEL did just that when he relayed that Monday (today if you’re reading this on Monday…duh) he begins his new slot as Promotion Manager for Scripps’ WPTV in gorgeous Palm Beach, Florida. He’ll be working with another favorite, the charming CSD CHRISTINE BARON. James has been lovin’ Florida and this is icing on the sunshine state cake of his. He’s from Up North, as they say, having worked in Philly, Flint, and Detroit. No wonder his family loves making sand castles on the beach – in February!  Let’s all hear it for a great guy with a great new slot. Well Dunne! James. Ps – see you guys soon….

Now that RACHEL PAPP is back in Palm Beach at NBC affil WPTV and has joined forces with CHRISTINE BARON, the Exec Producer and CSD respectively are the dynamic duo. Boom…order the tee shirts and coffee cups. Christine no sooner unpacked a moving box than the February sweeps started, and Rachel was there to make it happen sans tears or fears. Everybody is happy. When a good thing comes together, it’s a work of art. Well Dunne! Rachel and Christine.

2C Media Creative did a magic filled launch campaign for Nickelodeon’s second season of Every Witch Way, and using the word magic here really means just that – magic. Creative Director and also Director (2D might sum him up) BRIAN ELOE and the team helped intro a new character to the series.

If you’re in London this month, you’re in for a treatl. HBO is hosting a pop-up restaurant to promote Game of Thrones. The name? All Men Must Dine. Sadly, to get a seat at the table over the 3 day pop-up, one must have entered a contest whose deadline was, alas, yesterday. Let’s lift a goblet anyway and say a toast – Well Dunne! HBO. Tyrion would be so proud.
