Some of us change jobs and move across town. Some move across time zones. Some move coast to coast. And SOME of us take the word ‘Adventure’ and go whole hog, choosing to take a very different path indeed. CRISTINA ROMENTO, who has lately been doing a fab job producing promos for Scripps’ “The List” in Phoenix, is packing up and moving to Thuwal Saudi Arabia, which is right on the Red Sea across from where Egypt ends and Sudan begins. Go on…Google it. She won’t be doing TV per se, but she will be using all her marketing talents to the betterment of the world, introducing inventions and startups on behalf of KAUST Official, which is King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. Cristina has longed to work overseas since she was little and this opportunity came along at just the right time. There’s going to be so much to share along this venture…can’t wait to hear all the details. On behalf of the TV peeps on this side of The Pond, a very international Well Dunne! Cristina.

Well Dunne! to RAFAEL “RAFE” OLLER, the newly hired Sr. VP of Marketing at LA-based Si TV.  His new title at Si is Senior Vice President of Marketing. He’s coming over from Warner Brothers International, where he was VP of marketing and on-air promotions for Warner Channel. Before that he was at The FOX Network working his way up from Creative Director to SVP creative marketing and branding. He’s also been at USA Network. Rafe holds a master’s from Brown, a BSEE from Miami U and he is a grad of the Executive Program in Management at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. Great news!

Talk about adding a great spot to live to an already impressive  list of great spots where she HAS lived is CRISTINA ROMENTO, the new promo writer producer at KTBC FOX in Austin, TX. Cristina has lived in Hawaii, having done marketing production for KGMB, has been a casting director for the reality prodco Bunim Murray. Cristina has worked for FOX Chicago and FOX in Portland, OR as well. ALL great spots. Lucky lady. The Washington State U grad gets to work with VP Creative KATHIE SMITH and a favorite of mine, DANI DUDEK (who gets a big Wahoo for that new Emmy). Well Dunne! Cristina.

Did you know that Gospel Music Channel is now really going by GMC? They are indeed, and they’ve done a very nice Get Out And Vote PSA.

Lots of buzz happening about Waiting for Superman, the doc about education. yU+co, the viz design and motion graphics folks whose work is all over TV, did the main-on-end title sequence. Well Dunne! and way cool.
