Today is 3-22-11…that’s just kinda fun….
Snow isn’t the same from place to place. This is a lesson that STEVE CARTER is going to learn first hand when he leaves The Mile High City for coastal Maine. Steve has just been named President and General Manager of Gannett’s NBC affil WCSH in Portland, ME. He’s leaving his slot of VP of Marketing and Promotions at Gannett’s Denver duopoloy KUSA-KTVD. The white fluffy dry snow of Colorado will be different in Maine, but Portland is such a great place, it probably won’t make a bit of difference that it’s much wetter and sticks to the windshield in the morning. Steve has a degree in broadcasting and speech communication from Minnesota State University in Marshall and has been promotion manager at KSFY in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Been in Denver since ’92 where he started as a promo writer producer and worked his way up. Love seeing Gannett under President DAVE LOUGEE recognize that marketing people and promo folk are great GM’s. Well Dunne! Steve.
Out west, another Steve is switching jobs as well. STEVE POITRAS is giving up his VP of Marketing role at Tribune’s KTLA to become EVP of Business Development and Marketing at Veduto. The Woodland Hills based company is a delivery system for video and info via IP. Steve has been at local stations heading marketing efforts for KPIX and KTVU in the Bay area. Best of luck, Steve! And keep in touch. Well Dunne!
Think About This: If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~ Anne Bradstreet
