The folks at KMOV TV in St Louis have the most breathtaking view from their office windows: the Arch, the mighty Mississippi, the beautiful Old Cathedral….it’s the kind of view that National Geographic photogs get. The news from KMOV has nothing to do with their view, but with their new Promotion Manager. But I bet she has the same cool view. BETH ANN GAILEY has been promoted and her CSD JOHN SWEENEY is thrilled to have had her right under his nose. To get from Fresno to Las Vegas, one has to fly or drive, circumnavigating notorious Death Valley. It looks close on the map, but takes 5 hours or more by car. When you use Google maps, the directions make it look like a smiley face. It’s what RICK NITIDO has done and he’s gotten lucky in Vegas (doesn’t everybody want that?) and landed the Promo Manager job at NBC affiliate KSNV. He had been in Fresno quite some time, working at various slots at KSEE, but when his old station was purchased and blended with another, he was able to transition to Sin City. JAMES KERR is a man after my own heart; he has the secret Imo’s pizza cheese blend recipe. If you’ve ever spent any time whatsoever in St. Louis, you would know how delicious this is. Qualifications: One to Two years of local television promotion experience preferred. Candidate needs a strong knowledge of marketing, non-linear editing and writing. Expertise in shooting DSLR shooting a plus. A positive, team-first attitude is absolutely essential. Computer skills required, including knowledge of internet, social media and any other viral marketing applications.

Today is the first day ERIN MARTIN is spending as Promotion Manager at Scripps’ WXYZ in Detroit. Ms. Erin is a Southfield, MI native (google map it) and her hire has made her new boss, CSD DAVE BAUMANN, a very happy man. The impressive Ms. Martin is coming from CBS affil WKMG in Orlando where she had the PM title. - Help develop the design and coordination of pre-production and/or animation; make suggestions, provide sources and digital files, consult with director (if needed) before production, and ensure that the finished work is delivered to the final destination.
- To communicate with the creative team, and all station employees in a professional and positive manner.
- To exhibit a positive attitude towards work and company policies, and at all times, encourages a positive and cooperative work environment.
- Ability to find and consume the best food on this planet.
- Minimum 2 years Creative Services experience in a design environment, boutique, post-production house.
- Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator. VizRT and Final Cut Pro experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Mac OS and Windows.
- All aspects of promo production, including motion graphics, animation and non-linear editing.
