Every Monday is the dawn of a new life. Really, any single minute that you can choose to begin is a dawn. At any moment, again and again….you can turn a different direction…or think a different thought. But Mondays seem to have made themselves into a touch point for new lives, being the first day of the all-mighty workweek. This Monday, a very talented man is starting a new life in New York City…a life he’s wanted to lead for many years. As all good stories go, things had to work out so he could finally begin. You know, like in It’s A Wonderful Life. The needs of family coming first is the hallmark of a good, kind and honorable man, and that he is. This morning, GREG VERMETTE begins his new endeavor as the Senior Editor at Mindfile Multimedia on Broadway in The Big Apple. He will be upping the game in the #1 market and you should get to know him and his company if you’re serious about making spots and campaigns that work. He’s a Massachusetts guy who soaked up all kinds of How-To at Full Sail before getting serious about mastering creative in all forms. A renaissance man of sorts, he can take copy and make the end result OMFG good. Every time. He’s been at WCNC in Charlotte and at Center City Film and Video in Philly. He’s won a ton of awards but that’s not the goal for him. It’s making sure the client gets the best. Can’t imagine anybody else as good as he. Well Dunne! Greg.

When the email from former CSD LAUREN RIDGLEY popped into the Inbox, it seemed like it would be about her adventures as a new mom to an adorable little one. Well, it kinda was, in a way. Lauren sounded like a proud parent of sorts in sharing the news that LACY LEVASSEUR got named Promotion Manager at ABC affil WSOC in Charlotte. Lauren hired Lacy out of a Palm Springs station to come work at Hearst’s WISN in Milwaukee and the rest is, as the old expression goes, history. From Milwaukee, Lacy was off to the Queen City where she wrote and produced and now has been named to her first management title. Isn’t it great to hear a ‘former boss’ (or better yet let’s say mentor) call you brilliant?! Ms. Lacy is on a well deserved vacay at the moment, with her two adorable little ones who pop up on WSOC promos now and then) but would tell us she’s a Michigan State grad. All happiness and a sweet Well Dunne!

One little one who used to be in WCNC promos left for college this weekend. How is that even possible? Well Dunne! Rose Vermette, whose father GREG VERMETTE is my all time favorite and is holding down the creative fort in Philadelphia at Center City Film and Video.

Think About This:  “Parents rarely let go of their children, so children let go of them.
They move on. They move away.
The moments that used to define them are covered by
moments of their own accomplishments.

It is not until much later, that children understand;
their stories and all their accomplishments, sit atop the stories
of their mothers and fathers, stones upon stones,
beneath the water of their lives.”  ~ Paulo Coelho

Heading to the upstate of South Carolina is DEANNE BIVINS, who has taken the Marketing Manager slot at WSPA WSPA/WYCW/Your Carolina and Scene on 7, the Media General-owned CBS/CW affil and web sites in the Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville market. One of the items in her suitcase is a bright shiny new degree from Full Sail. Since she left WBRC  in Birmingham, she’s been cracking the books, or in this case cracking the computer, to earn a Masters of Science Certificate in Internet Marketing. Full Sail is an amazing school in Winter Park, FL who counts among their alums my favorite editor of all time, GREG VERMETTE. Ms. Deanne is wasting no time – she starts this Monday, April 25. A Georgia girl by birth, Ms. Bivins has also spun promo magic at KTVT in DFW as well as KSTP in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Greenville is home to the BMW plant here in the states, and one of her new goals it to find the BMW outlet store. Yeah, she’s a shopper as well as creative. Well Dunne! Deanne.

One of the most dedicated and reliable PR pros in the entertainment biz is now part A&E Television Networks. Let’s hear it for SHANNON KERR, now Sr. Manager, International Publicity and Communications. Shannon knows her stuff and has been working at SSAPR, handling NATPE, The Cable Show and a whole lot more for her clients. The Boston U grad at one time was a fashion assistant at  Harpers Bizarre. How cool. Well Dunne! Shannon.

Cool story on how the iPad is impacting the way  movie marketing is happening. Just a matter of seconds before that jumps to TV marketing.

“So I say to you: Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; everyone who searches finds; everyone who knocks will have the door opened.” ~ Luke 11:9-10
