Caught up with the newest member of the VP Club via phone and was thrilled to grab JESSICA RAPPAPORT as she was marking off morning #2 in her Cincinnati office. Jessica is now of VP of Marketing for the Scripps TV stations. She’s making the move from LA, where she has a brand new masters degree from USC in communication management, which is a very exclusive program, fyi. And the best part is that Jessica hails from Lexington, KY, which is just 75 miles down I-75 from her new city, and that means she feels like she’s coming home. Her undergrad degree is from Western Kentucky in Bowling Green.  She’s been at TV stations in Kentucky and Virginia as well as Oklahoma and Georgia before joining Magid. Her broad-based expertise was honed at Florida’s The Broadcast Team where she was VP for their broadcasts marketing programs. California played a sun drenched role in her background, too. Before going to USC, she was in Sacramento for Hearst overseeing their four properties’ marketing. A major social marketing pro, Ms. Jessica is gonna love all the fabulous CSD’s she’ll be working with at Scripps. Let’s hear a huge Well Dunne! Jessica.

Job Alert: Marketing Director at WNCT in Greenville, North Carolina which ironically also calls attention to the Marketing Director slot at WSPA in the Greenville SOUTH Carolina market, even though it is physically located in Spartanburg. What are the chances…

While the good folks at the Bronx Zoo look for that missing cobra (a good reason for New Yorkers to evacuate to Florida for a few weeks…) somebody with a wicked sense of humor is playing like a deadly snake on Twitter…a deadly snake with a sense of humor. Check out Twitter’s @BronxZoosCobra for a chuckle.
