When you’re onto something that works, keep it up. A more positive way to say ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”? Kind of…it’s also a way to describe the new Promotion Manager hire at Raycom’s Columbia, SC NBC affil, WIS-TV. CSD JIM HAYS has tapped LAURA HENSLEY to be the new Promo Manager – she starts Monday. This isn’t the first time Jim has hired Laura, who will come across the street from CBS affil WLTX in South Carolina’s capital city. He hired her once before when he was heading up creative efforts at WLTX. Like cookies and cream, some combos are just meant to be. While Laura takes time off before starting her next job adventure, we’ll say Well Dunne! to her and catch up later.

This is a spot that is so beautiful, it requires nothing more than your attention.
And this spoof spot using HBO’s red hot Game of Thrones is just too funny not to check out.

Columbia, SC, is not only the state capital, but its also home to the University of South Carolina, which had claim to the USC moniker before LA’s institution of higher learning made such a splash. JIM HAYS knows such local info, and a whole lot more. Good thing he’s staying in the market, although he has a new gig. Jim’s new biz card, both electronic and paper, reads Marketing Manager for legendary WIS-TV, the Raycom NBC affil. For the last few years, Jim had been at the Gannett CBS affil, so the whole new job thing does not require a moving van nor endless boxes to unpack. Cool. Jim is a NC boy who has lived many places while growing up and in his TV career, including gorgeous Asheville, Chapel Hill, Greenville SC and even three years in Little Rock, Arkansas. Well Dunne! Jim.

Think About This: "It is hard to let old beliefs go. They are familiar. We are comfortable with them and have spent years building systems and developing habits that depend on them. Like a man who has worn eyeglasses so long that he forgets he has them on, we forget that the world looks to us the way it does because we have become used to seeing it that way through a particular set of lenses. Today, however, we need new lenses. And we need to throw the old ones away." ~ Kenich Ohmae
