Might be a first…the digital person getting the helm of the entire creative direction of a station. So it is down in Little Rock where JESSICA JOHNSON AMIS has been named, or better yet promoted, to Marketing Director for the CBS affil in Arkansas’ capital. Sounds very exciting. Ms. Jessica is a Conway native (which is only 33 miles outside LR, so it’s a suburb practically) who went to school at University of Central Arkansas. She joined KTHV, aka THV11, five years ago as a digital producer then got bumped up to social media coordinator then Digital Content Manager last summer. How exciting for her! And the station and the market. Did we mention she’s got a great eye and is a photog, too? Well she is. And this picture is too cute. A big Well Dunne! Jessica.

Well Dunne! to Baltimore’s MARK HERNANDEZ, now Assistant Creative Services Director at Hearst’s WBAL in Baltimore. He was promoted from his Sr. Writer/Producer/Editor slot. Thanks CSD JOHN BALDWIN for the info and way to go Mark!

Winston-Salem is such a nice place to live, it has two names. Along the lines of ‘so nice they did it twice’…. And this time of year, what with the azaleas in bloom and the gardens bursting with life, it’s a perfect time to make it your home. That’s what CORY McRAE et familia are doing. New house, new state, new job. Oh yes, the job…yeah, he’s going to be the new Creative Services Director of Hearst’s WXXI, the NBC affil in the market that is home to the Furniture Capital of the World. Prediction that there will be some new furniture in the McRae family future. And yes, it really is the furniture capital. Cory will be departing Baltimore where he’s been Assistant Creative Services Director for Hearst’s WBAL under CSD JOHN BALDWIN. With his degree from  University of Montana at Bozeman (Bozeman, btw, is just gorgeous in case you didn’t know) Cory has promo’d at WDAF in Kansas City, CSD’d at WAPT in Jackson, Mississippi and he has the most interesting background out of  the world of TV. He’s a very cool guy and they will be lucky to have his creativity in North Carolina. Well Dunne! Cory.

It’s cherry blossom time in DC. Despite the snow, the cold and the general wintery weather hanging on, it’s still cherry blossom time in the capital and that means spring is not far behind.  Beneath the cherry blossoms at the FOX station, there’s news to share. BRAD CRUM has been named Promotion Manager for WTTG, that’s FOX5. He’s making the switch from inside the building where he was head of Promotion and Advertising for WDCA, the MyTV affil. Brad is a Stanford grad who has worked at CBS Network in LA as well as for XM Satellite Network where he was Director of Branding and Marketing Services.

Taking Brad’s slot at WDCA is COSMO LOSCO. Gotta love the name Cosmo. That’s him in the adorable picture. The Philly native began his career at WPVI in Philly under the direction of VP Creative, LAUREN BACIGALUPI, who Cosmo credits with getting him into the world of TV Promo. He then worked for the talented JOHN BALDWIN at WGAL in Lancaster before joining DONNA WILSON’s creative team at WRC in DC. Cosmo’s been a promotion producer at WTTG and WDCA most recently.  BTW, his picture gets him gold promo stars. Well Dunne! Brad and Cosmo!

That leaves FOX DC VP Creative Services MIKE HENRY on the hunt for a writer-producer. Yeah, he’s a super boss and it’s a great operation.

One of the nicest things about the Hearst group is their propensity to promote from within. They’re true to form with a promotion at their Lancaster, PA NBC affiliate, WGAL. Adding Senior to her writer-producer title is ELIZABETH (LIZ) MONTIJO, who’s a 6+  year vet. She’s now CSD JOHN BALDWIN’s right hand man. Liz in a Philadelphia lady who makes the trek daily to the station. That’s dedication, especially in the winter. Well Dunne! Liz.

Also contributing to the creative output at WGAL is local guy DOUG HALLMAN, who started out as an Intern.  With his degree from Goshen College,  Doug has his first official job and is doing super. Well Dunne! Doug.

The hat trick third addition for WGAL is ROBERT McGUNNIGLE, who made the switch from his writer producer slot at WHP TV, the CBS affil. Well Dunne!

Taking over the creative promotional needs of the ABC in LaCrosse – LaClaire, WI for WXOW and WQOW is JAKE ANDERSON. He’d been at the station, doing commercial production and got a bump up. The St. Peter, Minnesota native loves winter and the cold weather, and sounds very happy even in the middle of summer. Well Dunne! Jake.

CSD JOHN BALDWIN reports a hat trick hire at his Hearst-owned NBC affiliate in Harrisburg PA, WGAL. Congrats to LIZ MONTIJO, who was promoted to Sr. Writer/Producer/Editor. Joining the creative team is DOUG HALLMAN, a former intern at WGAL who recently got his diploma from Goshen College, and ROBERT McGONAGALL, who comes over to from  the CBS affil in the market, WHP. Thanks for the info and Well Dunne! Liz, Doug and Robert.

Anybody see the dynamite fake-newscast trailer for the new film Jennifer Salt? Very well dune.

Half the year is done – it’s July. How this has occurred is beyond me. But THINK ABOUT THIS: “Time is an equal opportunity employer.  Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day.  Rich people can’t buy more hours.  Scientists can’t invent new minutes.  And you can’t save time to spend it on another day.  Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving.  No matter how much time you’ve wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow.”  ~ Denis Waitely
