Somewhere in the Sacramento environs there is a neighborhood of pyramid houses. Yes, houses shaped like pyramids in California’s capital. JOHN TISCHENDORF, who at the time was CSD at KOVR there, lived in one. Probably why he stayed so young (see pyramid power). Finding that neighborhood is just one of the activities that L SCOTT WELLS can pursue when he isn’t unpacking boxes or producing promos for FOX, KTXL. Mr. Scott has been in the pacific northwest doing all kinds of creative TV pursuits. He’s gonna love Sacto, what with it being so perfectly situated between Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. Well Dunne! Mr. Wells.

Using the amazing skills and talents that TV marketing (all kinds) fosters and hones, it’s no surprise when a markting pro decides to open their own creative shop. Let’s hear it for L SCOTT WELLS who has gone full time as Creative Director of HeadQuake Media. He’s still in the Eugene Oregon area, where he had been Promotion Marketing Manager of KEZI, the ABC affiliate in the town where U of Oregon is located. Yes, the same place they filmed Animal House. Mr. W is in this exciting venture with his fiancé Marshelle, who brings amazing website design skills to the party. No doubt whatsoever that his marketing chops from KATU, KGW, KOIN and WNCT will be a major plus in making this a big success. Well Dunne! Mr. Wells!

L. SCOTT WELLS is jumping into hyperdrive and switching to a great new job at HeadQuake Media, where he’ll be Creative Director of the agency that does all the fun creative things for traditional and social, online, etc. He’ll be vacating his Promo and Marketing Manager slot at KEZI, ABC in Eugene. Gorgeous Eugene…Oregon…where HeadQuake is also located. Scott has spent most of his time in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, doing radio and TV promo at such stations as KXLY, KOLO in Reno, and KOIN, KATU, and KGW in Portland. He did mix it up with a stint at WNCT in another beautiful market, Greenville NC. He’s a muy-talented guy who deserves a big ol’ Well Dunne!

Well Dunne! Talent’s MARIAN MASSARO needs some good healing wishes for her mother. Thanks in advance…

From the ironically blatant self-promotion department – NYTimes details a Bacon club and how everybody is crazy for Bacon. Yes, it’s about the food, but Thank you anyway.

Last week in Raleigh, the WRAL TV family were on hand when a brand new US citizen was sworn in. SHAN ZHONG, the Lead Designer at the Capital Broadcasting operation, was born in China…Nanjing to be precise. He came to the states to be an art student and decided the US was the place for him. After earning his Masters Degree in Computer Arts from Memphis College of Art, he quickly became a paperwork expert in order to stay stateside. That was 15 years ago. It all came together when he passed his citizenship test and was sworn in. And yes, I bet those of us born here would have a struggle with those 100 questions about our country. Shan has worked at WMC in Memphis before CSD SHELLY LESLIE grabbed him and she couldn’t be happier. Looks like a very happy group that Shan works with. On hand were WRALers BILL BURCH, STEVE LOYD, RANDY MEWS, STACIE HOLYFIELD, JAY YOVANOVICH, DEBBIE TULLOS, STEVE HAMMEL, Shan and Shelly.  Well Dunne! Shan.

Now, off to the very opposite side of the country – Oregon. L SCOTT WELLS is very excited about his new slot as Sr. Writer Producer at KEZI in Eugene. It’s the Chambers ABC affil in Eugene, home of U of Oregon which no doubt makes it a very fun place to live. Mr. W has been in the Portland market for years, and will still be close to family. It’s a win-win situation. Everybody is happy. LOVE that. Well Dunne!

A day late but still sincere – birthday wishes for Well Dunne! Talent’s CHUCK MATTHEWS. Have you given Chuck a listen? Just click on this name and then click on his demo. Yeah, he’s got a very good voice and you should consider him for your next choice.

Blogging the Super Bowl commercials from promo pros. Yep, that’s what is on the table. Gonna be fun. Sure do want one of the Invitees, but there’s a strong chance she’ll be at the game. How cool is that. Let me know if you’re interested!
