Lots going on at Gannett’s NBC affil,  WKYC, in Cleveland. It all began with the promotion of one of my all-time favorites MAC MAHAFFEE who was named Digital Marketing Manager, one of those cutting edge jobs that remind me of the “where no man has gone before”.  So, that having happened, following took place.

Kent State alum MONIQUE JACKSON has been promoted to Creative Services Director. Monique has been at WKYC doing creative promotions for quite some time, so this is exciting for all involved.

STACY YACOBOZZI (that’s her in the picture) got promoted to Manager of On-Air Promotion and Media. The Baldwin Wallace College grad has done a lot of special events and also done promotion at crosstown WEWS.

New to the mix is Writer- Producer DAN CANTERNA, who moved north from his promo slot at FOX in Cincinnati. He has a degree from Ohio State and worked as a Graphic Designer at Raycom’s Myrtle Beach, SC station.

All this of course no doubt makes VP of Advertising and Promotion MICKI BYRNES a very happy lady. Well Dunne! Monique, Stacy, and Dan.

Think About This: “For attractive lips – speak words of kindness.  For lovely eyes – seek out the good in people.  For a slim figure – share your food with the hungry.  For beautiful hair – let a child run their fingers through it once a day.  For poise – walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.  People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.  As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”  ~Sam Levenson

Promos were way better than spots on SuperBowl this year. FOX took perfect advantage in promoting House, the debut of the new cop series Chicago something, Idol and Hope. The folks at Glee must be expressing that exact emotion with all the time they got. The Daytona 500 spots were hot as was the glimpse into the long-promised and long awaited Terra Nova. Loved the Speed Channel spot for their new show Car Warriors.. Best thing I saw on the tube was not a spot or promo, but Michael Douglas’ Journey To SuperBowl. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdDNkh98XZE

Job Alert: CSD needed at WGMB FOX in Baton Rouge, LA

Condolences going out to WKYC’s Promo Manager MAC MAHAFFEE who lost his mom. Mac is one of the great guys…talented, smart and an AppState grad.

Think About This: "Each of us sends out positive or negative vibrations, often without being conscious that we are doing so. What if we made an effort to be consciously positive, to resonate messages of the highest good for others and ourselves? What if we made a deliberate attempt to keep our thoughts aligned with God’s spiritual optimism, to refuse to be stuck in self-centered fear? Our thoughts speak louder than our words. In order to change what we create, we must change our thinking. We must mind our mind."  ~ Albert Clayton Gaulden

Does a Monday start out much better than this: Lewis Black has a new special tonight on The History Channel. No. No it does not. This is the BEST. And a short week to boot. I’ll post when something comes along, but I’m not making any promises.

Kudos to Well Dunne! Talent’s lovely SCARLETT JUNG on her recent project for WKYC, NBC in Cleveland. Thanks to MAC MAHAFFEE and MICKI BYRNES.

If you don’t know what Transmedia is, better find out.
