The movie Uncle Buck…big favorite, right? Absolutely. Remember the high school where Buck drops off his very embarrassed niece? That’s New Trier High in Winnetka, IL and it’s where ANDREW CALIENDO went. Fast forward to now, and with New Trier far behind him,he’s going to Charlotte to fill the long-vacant Creative Services Director slot at Tegna’s WCNC, NBC in the Queen City.  He’ll be making the switch from LIN/Media General’s WIAT in Birmingham. Andrew’s got a great background in TV marketing, starting as Creative Services Manager at KVIA in El Paso. He went to Meredith’s KPHO in Phoenix and would return there as Promo Manager.  Stops along the way include Los Angeles’ KABC as News Promo Manager and CSD at KVOA in Tucson. He’s on the Ones To Watch List, so expect to see some exciting work on air in NC beginning in late June. He’ll be in Vegas at PROMAX, so look him up to say a Big Well Dunne! Andrew.

Job Alert – CSD WIAT Birmingham

Major kudos, gold stars and Well Dunne! to NBC TV Network. They send an email to those who apply for jobs via their website. Wow…a communication company that communicates. How bout that! Making candidates feel wanted, even if they don’t get any further than sending in their info. This is a simple, inexpensive (read mainly free) way to improve the image of your company. Do it, as Nike says. There’s really no reason not to.

Think About This:  “Anything that annoys you is teaching you patience. Anyone who abandons you is teaching you to stand on your own two feet. Anything that angers you is teaching you forgiveness and compassion. Anything that has power over you is teaching you how to take your power back. Anything you hate is for teaching you unconditional love. Anything you fear is for teahing you courage to overcome your fear. Anything you can’t control is for teaching you to let go and trust the Universe.”  ~ Jackson Kiddard
