Trading the Gateway to the West for the Gateway to South America is branding guru JOHN SWEENEY, newly named VP of Brand Marketing at NBC down Miami way, aka WTVJ. John’s decamping KMOV in St. Louis for the network-owned slot. Yes, you get extra points if you know The Lou is Gateway to the West. What do you think that Arch is for? The Fordham grad has worked doing marketing at WVIT in Hartford, another NBC property. He served as Promo Manager in Houston at NBC affil KPRC and at one time even had his own NYC-based prodco. He turned to marketing after putting in seven years at Fox News Channel. Miami is muy caliente, John. Well Dunne!

Well Dunne! going out to JEFF ZELLMER who has added responsibility as Regional VP of Creative Services for the FOX TV stations. It seems like just yesterday he was in Charlotte…then in DC…the children grow so quickly…

Who’s the new kid on the block at WMC in Memphis? None other than TERRYE BAKER, the new Marketing Manager for Raycom’s NBC affiliate in the city Elvis called home. Terrye has been in Chicago at NBC’s WMAQ writing and producing. Now she’s moving to a management slot under CSD JENNY SMITH, who is thrilled to have her as part of the marketing squad. Big Well Dunne! to Terrye.

All the best wishes to Miami’s NBC6 Promo Producer and Motion Graphic whiz JIM GRAVINA, who is a magician when he’s not doing TV marketing. It was indeed a magical moment when he asked his lovely girlfriend to be his wife. Yes, everybody was all smiles at the engagement.
