Excellent writing & Final Cut skills required. Other beneficial skills lie in areas of pop culture, current events, and social media. An understanding of on-site activation and radio promotion execution is a plus. Able to work independently, take direction and meet tight deadlines.  Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Alert  – Design Manager WXIN/WTTV Indianapolis 

Job Description:  Supervise, collaborate, mentor and work alongside an award-winning team of graphic designers and animators in the execution of the WXIN FOX59/WTTV Indiana’s 4 identity in print, on-air,  web, and other graphics executions. Lead by exam for the purpose of enhancing and keeping consistent Fox 59 and Indiana’s 4 image in all aspects of promotion and marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with Creative Services Director to supervise Art Department personnel including project assignments, scheduling, and critical review. 
  • Participate in development of Fox 59 and Indiana’s 4 promotion strategies relating to graphic design for the purpose of enhancing Fox 59 and Indiana’s 4 image. 
  • Assists the Creative Services Director in the oversight of design and production of all electronic graphics for on-air, print, outdoor, and collateral material. 
  • Works with Creative Services Director to assure multi-platform functionality, and the integration of equipment with built-in redundancies to insure cross training. 
  • Service outside clients in revenue producing graphic needs. 
  • Other duties as assigned by department head and/or VP/General Manager. 

Qualifications Necessary:

  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products required, particularly After Effects, Illustrator and Photo Shop
  • 4 years of experience working in broadcast design field required
  • Knowledge of Cinema 4D and VizRT 3D animation and news compositing software preferred
  • Four year degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communication or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong visual and communication skills
  • Must possess a positive, proactive, team focused attitude
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to manage time between teaching and supervising artists, scheduling artists, hand-on projects, and outside client-driven work

We need a forward thinking, creatively disciplined, hands-on design manager to lead an outstanding team of graphic designers and animators. You will demonstrate your abilities for right- and left-brain thinking by helping to develop smart department workflow and supervising training for the design staff. 

Top candidates can hold their own in supervising those within several graphic design disciplines, including motion, print advertising, logo development, and even 3D.

Just in time for The Season, which is code for “escaping to Florida to avoid ice, snow, and cold” comes word out of Tampa of a great hire. JOSH COMBS – and his family – are now enjoying the Bay area where he is the Promotion Manager of Media General’s WFLA.  Josh is already on the job at the NBC affil, so this Christmas will be all extra happy. He’s making the switch from being Marketing Director of Nexstar’s FOX affiliate in Little Rock, KLRT. The Indiana U grad has worked in TV doing marketing and commercial creative at WMBB, ABC in Panama City as well as WBKI in Louisville. The Combs family will have a very merry Christmas indeed. SHANNON POWELL didn’t’ go very far to find her new office…it’s in the same beautiful town of Augusta, GA; she’s just leaving her Marketing director slot at Gray’s CBS affil WRDW to become Marketing Director at Raycom’s FOX affil WFXG. The University of Florida grad hasn’t just done cool jobs at WSB and WXIA in Atlanta. She’s a master chocolatier. That’s right – the lady is an expert at truffles and even went to school to know everything chocolate-y. To say this is a sweet lady is, well, too cliché. But c’est vrais! Well Dunne! Shannon.


Another cool lady has a new job and hasn’t had to travel far to report for duty. LARA RICHARDSON is now the SVP of Marketing – Creative for Discovery Channel. She’s been the VP of Creative for TLC, one of the Discovery channels, where she was at one time a Supervising Producer for TLC/Discovery Home Channel. Other creative stops along the way include Creative Director slot for History Channel and History International, Director of On-Air Promotions for USA Broadcasting, a Senior Writer Producer slot at Oxygen. She began her career in Lubbock, TX at the Fox affiliate as a Promo Coordinator. Impressive Lara. Well Dunne!

 

Congrats to Well Dunne! Talent’s NIKKI STANZIONE on becoming an Aunt. The new little type is going to grow up to be as pretty as her Aunt.

FOX31 Denver and Colorado’s Own Channel 2 in gorgeous Denver, Colorado has an immediate opening in their Emmy® Award winning, highly Creative Services Department for a talented and experienced team-oriented Senior Motion Graphic Designer.


In this position you will provide graphic support to daily newscasts as well as assist promotions by creating top-notch motion graphics and animation.  Graphics are created using the Adobe Suite, Cinema 4D and VizRT.  Must be able to work tight deadlines with minimal direction and be ready to have fun with a creative team that goes beyond the typical.  We are looking for a killer designer with expert knowledge of 2D and 3D animation… someone with a solid work ethic, positive attitude and personality to match.


Required skills: Cinema4D, After Effects, Photoshop and News Graphics.  (These are non-negotiable.  You need to start with these skills in your pocket!)


Extra Credit skills: VizRT.
