SAMANTHA KNOWLTON, who sat in the CSD chair for Scripps’ KJRH in Tulsa, wants you all to think of her next time you order chotskes. Whether you are ordering for your market, your region or nationally, she will take SUCH good care of you. She’s been working with PC-Promotions and she knows the budet, time, and quality pressures involved. Hit her up at Samantha.Knowlton@pc-Promotions.com and she’ll do you right. Well Dunne! Samantha.

Info Moment. So, let’s say you live in a state where marijuana is legal, either recreationally or medically. You want to take a job in a state where it’s still a major no-no in any form. A drug test is requested. What do you do? Well, ya gotta clean up because nationally it’s still not bueno. It might swing that way, but currently, it’s not happening. So, to recap…if you’re in a state where it’s good but wanting to work in a state where it isn’t, behave appropriately. Even with a doctor’s note…

Think About This: “How would you live if you felt you could trust life fully? If you believed you were totally protected and secure, that forevermore your life would be filled with love and prosperity? Think of how your fears would dissolve, of how totally accepting of yourself and others you would be—it wouldn’t matter if they met your expectations or not. Think of how you would venture forth knowing you would succeed. Think of how your heart would open, of how free you would feel. How free you would be to love. All of this is the treasure that life offers us. We just lack the consciousness to experience it.”  ~  Susan L. Taylor

Yes, it is indeed 11-12-13. Math can be fun. What isn’t fun is losing good people when they leave the industry. One such soon-to-depart gem is SAMANTHA KNOWLTON. She’s been heading up the creative efforts of Scripps’ NBC affil KJRH in Tulsa since 2000 and during that time she was always a total pro with a smile you could feel over the phone lines. What has enticed Ms. Samantha away from the crazy world of TV marketing? Probably the concept of normalcy for one. She’s accepted the slot of Events Marketing Manager for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. Excellent. Samantha promises to keep in touch. Well Dunne! Samantha on your new adventure.

Yes, there is life after television. TODD LONG, who writes comedy and is talented in so many other ways as well, is using all that background of his to bring video to Raytheon, where he’s officially Senior Visual Effects Artist. He learned a lot doing TV promo at WAFF in Huntsville as well at net affiliates in Omaha and Victoria, TX. Always glad to hear about excellent transitions. Well Dunne! Todd.

How did you start your day. Bet it wasn’t as much fun as the folks in Vegas, where they did a 5K down the Vegas strip with Dr. Oz. Seen on the scene were WXYZ’s DAVE BAUMANN (looking muy fit), KJRH’s SAMANTHA KNOWLTON, WNCT’s MARC MORRISTON (who quipped that the run should have been named the ‘I’m not in shape 5K”), MARIAH GARDNER of WAGT and WJLA’s BONNIE WOOD. Way to go kids…wear those I Did The Strip With Dr. Oz shirts with pride. Well Dunne!

If you run into the one and only DEILIA WILLIAMS, make sure to comment on her shoes.

KEVIN VICKERS has been promoted to Design Director at FX Design Group, where he had been both a Designer and Sr. Designer. As a matter of fact, he was the driving visionary for Tulsa’s KJRH set, which I know made GM DONNA WILSON, CSD SAMANTHA KNOWLTON and Sr. Promo Producer BRANDT DOTSON happy. Kevin has a degree from the coolest art school – Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota. Well Dunne! Kevin.

Also at FX comes word that AL LAGOR is now Managing Director of Motion Design. He has a station background that includes WHDH Boston and loves sports. Well Dunne! Al.

Lovin’ Tulsa’s Scipps’ owned ABC Affil KJRH, where Well Dunne! Talent’s RICH VANSLYKE voices for their news. Great to hear from CSD SAMANTHA KNOWLTON, who  updated the latest changes in her department. When Topical writer producer CHARLES ELMORE left the biz, she promoted CHRIS FITZWALTER to the topical spot and he’s doing just great. Meanwhile, their new Commercial Producer is JIM DOUTT. It’s all OK, as they say in Oklahoma. Well Dunne!

The power of editing and marketing…so elegantly exhibited in a recut trailer for Ferris Buehler’s Day Off. Yes, check it out and see how Ferris might have been marketed vis a vis a moody, indie genre.
