This holiday was absolutely full of ‘non-holiday’ events. From KEYE’s CSD STEVE HARRIS’ truck getting totaled (he’s OK…that’s the best news) to Lincoln, Nebraska based former KLKN TV promo pro DAVE DWINELL’s heart attack and bypass surgery (sending him healing thoughts…knowing he’ll be just fine in no time)….the events weren’t ones that bring about confetti and champagne. Our best thoughts go out to COUNCIL BRADSHAW, Fox Charlotte’s CSD, whose father passed away. And to a Raleigh-based PR lady whose house burned down on T-day itself. It all boils down to the reminder to be kinder with each other. We need to give each other more Well Dunne!’s….and focus on helping each other in any way we can.

Remember, the tech folks are dealing with Well Dunne! Talent site, so it will be up and down for the next few days. We’re still there 1000%….

Know where STEVE HARRIS, Austin’s KEYE marketing head, is reading this right now? Hawaii. The Islands. Paradise. He’s a lucky man. Even luckier – he’s now a married man – newly married.  Ho’omaika’i ‘Ana and all the best to you and your bride.

KEYE in Texas’ capital, Austin, has been the creative domain of STEVE HARRIS for a month or more. He even celebrated his birthday in Texas – no doubt  getting flan and a margarita in lieu of cake and ice cream. Steve comes over to Texas from Tucson, where was Marketing Manager for Journal’s KGUN. The Cal State Chino grad headed up creative for KOVR in Sacramento as well as worked at KRBK. Well Dunne! Steve.

Today’s the last day to get a jpg in for the next issue of PROMAX Brief Magazine…where the Shuffle page is always a popular read.

Some people have a lot of luck. Take STEVE HARRIS, for instance. Not only is he talented but he’s getting to live in several of the US’s greatest places. He’s going to be leaving Tucson, which is an ideal place – Paul McCartney has his one and only vacation home in Tucson. And what city is enticing him to leave the desert? None other than Austin, TX, home to Willie Nelson, the state capital, and a couple of kids studying at a place that has a Longhorn. As a California guy ( he went to Cal State Chico) Steve will fit right in. He’s taking the CSD slot at Sinclair’s CBS affil KEYE and decamping his 7 year stint at Journal’s ABC affil, KGUN. Yep, he’s trading one great set of calls for another. Steve learned the promo biz at one of the great spots around – KOVR in Sacramento, where he spent 13 and a half years as Director of Advertising and Promotion. He’s going to take I-10 East for an August start date. A big Well Dunne! to you Steve.

Any of you who are new to their job and have not yet gotten a jpg picture of themselves to me for the PROMAX Brief magazine…tick tock people.

Condolences to former WSOC CSD SALLY GANZ whose father passed away over the weekend.
