Chicago seems to be where everybody is moving. At least it seems that way. The latest new Chicago resident is WILL GIVENS, who is leaving gorgeous San Diego where he was over at FOX 5 as Director of Branding and Marketing for the Tribune station. His new title and adventure finds him a member of the VP club for Weigel Broadcasting. Officially he’s Vice President of Network Marketing. Will’s a very interesting guy…he studied polisci and philosophy as well as communications a Cal Luthern U in lovely Thousand Oaks before kicking off a broadcast career at VCC Television Production. His first station-side promo slot was a KADY in Oxnard (yes, where the outlets are on the way to Santa Barbara) then on to KMPH in Fresno. Then he did a fun gig as President of NATAS Pacific Southwest Chapter. Definitely a SoCal guy, the switch to The Windy City will be a big step in the excitement direction. Well Dunne! Will.

For those of you so inclined, and as a shout out to a high school friend, click and read about how you…yes, you…can help fight world hunger through a project called Living Below the Line. Can you live 5 days spending only $ 1.50 a day for food? Donate if so inclined and thank you for clicking and investigating. JOHN COONROD is one of the really good guys. How cool would it be to do this…get your news department to do a story on it. Really make a difference….

Those in the know recognize High Point, NC as the furniture capital of the world, even with Ikea and China doing their best to end it all. High Point is part of the Greensboro Winston-Salem TV market in North Carolina and is where STUART SMITH has been heading up the creative efforts for WGPH, the Tribune owned FOX affiliate since March. He learned about broadcasting at the University of Wisconsin Stephens Point and got his first TV job at WAOW in Wausau. His next stop was at WTSP in St Pete where he was Writer Producer then he hit The Big Easy as Assistant Creative Services Director at WDSU. Not only is the new job a plus for him, but he’s a new dad, too! An 8 month old! Despite he lack of sleep, he’s pumped and happy. Well Dunne! Stuart.

Tomorrow, find out what WILL GIVENS is doing…and it’s very exciting!
