This Monday is not going to be any ol’ Monday. Not the ‘gotta get to work why can’t weekends be longer’ Monday. No…it’s going to be happy. And what is happier than love? This Monday dawns finding the lovely ZOHRA ALNOOR (of WJLA promo fame) a married lady. She eloped! And…wait for it…because it is February sweeps, she went back to work! OMG, does CSD STAN MELTON not have the most wonderful lady working for him!?! Notice to WJLA…think bonus. We are all sending the newlyweds our best!
Former CBS Boston promo pro JESSICA HENRICHS has added a new title to her resume: Mom. She and her handsome hubby welcomed a beautiful little girl to the world. Yes, all smiles and cuddles and happiness emanating from Chicago, where Jess is a VP at Digitas.

The last few days have certainly been, uh, interesting. There was joy and gratitude and the sharing of feelings that bind us as humans. For instance, former promo pro JIM GRAVINA, who is now tearing it up at the DC Agency Shine Creative got married. He and his gorgeous bride are actually on their way to Niagara Falls. Love it!
Up in Raleigh, where the outer bands of Hurricane Matthew raged, WRAL’s SHELLY LESLIE has quite the story regarding a huge heavy tree that fell…right on the car she was in. The tree fell perfectly between her house, not hitting anything. It fell on the car, but didn’t hurt her or her passenger. It’s angelic.
Bright days ahead for WJLA’s ZOHRA ALNOOR got engaged! The lady with the great smile now has the greatest smile. Yes, happiness in spades for this wonderfully talented young lady.
Come back tomorrow when we’ll have people news from Portland, Maine..and…

“I’m leaving paradise.” STAN MELTON JR sure knows how to perk up a person’s ears – starting a phone call with a very good promo line. The paradise of which he speaks is San Diego and his slot as Creative Services Director of Scripps’ KGTV, the ABC affiliate in a market with the beach, mountains, desert, perfect weather, foreign access and La Jolla, among other things. What would lure Stan away from such perfection? The call of home and the desire to make his family happy. Contrary to what Tom Wolfe has to say, Stan et familia are going home to Washington DC. Not just to their city home, but Stan is going to be Creative Services Director at WJLA. Yes, he had that job at one time. Wonder if they kept the business card template. He’ll be working with Promo Manager BONNIE WOOD as well as a few new creative faces. Stan’s son is growing up fast and all his friends as well as extended family will be welcoming the Meltons. He sounded happy about DC but hates leaving the station and the beach. Yes, his house on the beach is up for grabs, as is his old job. A great big Well Dunne! for the uber-creative and ever charming Stan.

Welcome to November sweeps. When Janet Jackson had a “wardrobe malfunction” at the Super Bowl, all kinds of trouble ensued. The ‘tabloids’ call such a thing “a nip slip”. Now WJLA in DC (ABC – Allbritton) is going to do a 4 part breast cancer series with, wait for it, real breasts on screen. I’m sure JLA will provide a REAL story and not a stunt story. Why are people still upset about body parts on screen?

Think About This: "Our good nature and endearing qualities will not arouse the answers to our prayers. Rather, it is our mischievous, dishonest attributes that provide the master keys to heaven. When we identify and work to transform our self-centered qualities and crooked characteristics, the key turns and the gates unlock. Blessings and good fortune are now free to rain down upon us." ~ Yehuda Berg
