He’s vacationing now, but when ROB BROCKMEYER returns to WMAR, Scripps’ ABC in Baltimore, he’ll be taking on a new role, that of Creative Services Director. Rob’s been at the station and really knows his stuff. He started out as a News Editor and moved up to Producer/Editor. That led to Senior Production Editor and finally, he was named Broadcast Production Director. Way to go Mr. B! Along the way, the Towson grad was a Senior Media Analyst for Sallie Mae and worked at Comcast. He’ll be adding CSD to the Ops and the man will be rockin’ Balto. Well Dunne Rob. Enjoy the vay-cay and come back recharged.

If you’re hoping to get a free moment of ALEX SHAW’s time in June, well, you might be out of luck entirely. His calendar is booked…good thing the longest day of the year is June 20. June will be the month when baby Shaw #2 debuts (it’s the first part of the month – but babies seldom check iCal), the month he hits Vegas for PROMAX and the month he begins his new job as Creative Services Director of WPEC in West Palm Beach. Throw in packing, changing diapers, saying goodbye to the folks at Baltimore’s WMAR where he’s vacating the CSD slot, finding a new place to live, spending time with little Shaw #1, spending time with his wife and last but not least standing in long TSA lines…whew! Tired just thinking of it. The Boston U grad will handle it with ease. His background in TV includes Promo Producer at WSVN in Miami, Promo Producer and Editor at KCRA in Sacramento, and Director of Creative Services and Programming in Springfield, MA. Alex is returning to West Palm actually – he was once Executive Producer of Promos for WPBF amongst the palms. Let’s hear a big Well Dunne! before he’s too busy to let it sink in!

DEIRDRE CONLEY is headed to Charlotte. After an extensive search, the fine folks at Cox’s ABC affil tapped Deirdre as the new Creative Services Director at their Queen City operation, WSOC and WXAN. Deirdre will be leaving Austin (and that’s such a great town – bet it’s difficult to leave) where she’s been Creative Director of Lin/Media General’s NBC affil KXAN for several years. The Midwest lady got her degree from Butler U (known for basketball wins) and has worked in Columbus Ohio at WWHO (Lin) and Indianapolis at WISH (Lin). She’ll be hitting Charlotte at the perfect time of year to enjoy the White Water Center and escape to the NC mountains on weekends. Well Dunne! Deirdre.
