If you want to do a complete 180 in regards to parts of the US, you might want to use Helena, Montana and Tallahassee, Florida. Yes, they are both state capitals. You get a gold star if you knew that. But one cozies up to the majestic Rocky Mountains and one is Florida small rolling hills about 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. One gets four seasons and their fair share of snow while the other is practically frost-free with the occasional hurricane. When BRADY MARSH takes over his first shot at running a marketing department at WTXL in Tallahassee, he’ll be the go-to- guy on the differences. WTXL is the Scripps-owned ABC affil in Tally, as some locals refer to their town. Brady is ready for the gig, after being both producer then Senior Producer at KSNV, the NBC affil in Vegas. He’s a graduate of Carroll College in Helena who has also worked at KTVH in Helena. Looking forward to hearing great things from him. Well Dunne! Brady!

Tallahassee is Florida’s capital, which you all know. Located in the Panhandle of the pistol-shaped state, Tallahassee is also home to Florida State U, giving the city the same kind of mix of students and politicians that Austin, Texas boasts. Joining in the frey is the new creative services utility man, EVAN ZIEFELMANN, who’s been hard at work for the last three months at the ABC affiliate, KTXL, owned by Calkins. Evan has done a few very exciting things along the way to Tallahassee, like be a reporter and Assignment Editor for The Columbus Packet newspaper in Columbus, Mississippi. He’s also worked at Columbus’ WCBI, the CBS affil doing a range of duties like IT and Audio. He’s a can-do guy and we’re glad to give him a big Well Dunne!

Also in Tallahassee, hard working ELLIOT TOOLE has retired after 46 years on the job, most recently handling promotions and creative services. Wow…46 years. That’s older than the average age of some of the readers. What a sweet man. May we all find a spot that makes us happy for so long. Well Dunne! Elliot.

Know what a mitzvah is? It’s a Jewish commandment, and in this case, it’s a good deed done for someone. Think about doing a mitzvah that you will enjoy on several levels, like spiritual and intellectual, if that’s how one would classify reading. Former News Director FORREST CARR is a prolific writer. He calls his blog the Bashful Bloviator. Well, he has a new book and you should think about buying it. For print or Kindle, it’s called The Dark.
