The best part of writing this post (not calling it a blog anymore…wretched word – perhaps even worse than moist) is talking with people who are intelligent, creative, interesting, fun, and they all display a sense of humor. Got to do that and have to tell you about a lady who did amazing work in the TV promo world in Los Angeles and then reinvented herself. Reinventing oneself is SO important…you won’t want to miss an online seminar coming up that puts you on the road to a new, but still creative, you. Yes, that was a shameless self-promotion. JENNIFER BERNARD, who hails from Minnesota, was CSD at KNBC, where she worked her way up after doing Topicals. She’s been at KYW Philly, and a station in Portland, ME as well as McMillian where she wrote encyclopedia entries. She left the frenetic energy of LA for the wide-open vistas of Alaska where her sister was living. She sold her house and headed north. What to do while looking at moose? She started writing. Taking what she knew (the advice given to all writers) she wrote a romance novel about a fireman and a TV News producer. Titled The Fireman Who Loved Me, Jennifer was thrilled to escape to a comfort zone while writing. The book was a hit and since then, she has penned more than 40 books. Working for herself is a huge plus. She met the man of her dreams, married him, and has reinvented herself with flair. Well Dunne! Jennifer.
Going to write about Reinventors much more because the biz needs it. Even have that nice new graphic. Thanks ANDY SCHWABE.
