Congrats to RUSS NELLIGAN, who was named Vice President Marketing for Hearst TV. He’s a Hearst man, having led marketing for their Baltimore (WBAL) and Boston (WCVB) operations. He’ll be taking the office vacated when SUZANNE GRETHEN retired before the new year. He’ll be trading Bean Town for The Big Apple…all food references inadvertent. Glad to hear about the big promotion. Well Dunne! Russ.

You can watch the fires in LA and be appalled, but the reality of fear and loss comes through in messages from those in LA on the westside. Friends and colleagues have lost everything. One writer I know lost all she’s written. Writers are not the kind of people who usually adapt to the cloud or backups. Once it all clears, the real work will start. Imagine losing all your work. Video, scripts, books in progress, etc. Entire shows paused or worse. Anybody else wonder how the insurance companies will survive the payouts? If your head is spinning…you are not alone. I love LA, but it took so much out of one’s soul to thrive there. Perhaps a ‘new LA’ will create itself in an easier frame.
