Time for us to have a chat about life in general. Time to examine what work means and how it impacts us. We are NOT our jobs. We are human beings not human doings. Just because you have a great job does NOT mean you are happy, or a good person, or even someone people look to. I won’t (but can) name a list of people who have amazing jobs but are desperately awful…cheating on their spouses, lying, no empathy, making people cry. Right now, people’s character is on full display. Just because you might have accumulated a billion dollars does NOT make you a success. It just makes you wealthy. Wealthy is nothing more than an adjective. What adjectives are you? In the meantime, do NOT get overwhelmed. It’s easy to be down. Really down. Reach out and dial 988. We are ALL going through really heavy stuff right now. I don’t know one person, inside or outside the business, that is sailing along like we once were. Thanks everybody.

The world is less creative and original today with the news that DAN MEYERS has, I use the quote from BEAU WEAVER, taken his light into another room. The Buffalo-based storyteller had a long and illustrious run as Marketing Director for TV stations, most recently at WGRZ, where he started as the commercial production manager before getting tapped to be Marketing Director. He had also headed up Buffalo’s WIVB marketing and promotions efforts. He was a long-term job holder. 25 years at WIVB and 11 at WGRZ until the Great Tegna Downsize. As you know, that is a commendable and rare record. At one time he was a freelance cameraman for the ice hockey team Buffalo Sabres. Very cool. No pun intended. He will be missed. LARRY WATZMAN at Orlando’s WOFL shared the following; Dan Meyers was a creative force—full of ideas, energy, and talent. His work inspired many, and his presence will be deeply missed.I hope he knows how many smiles he brought to people.
